A Patisserie is a typical french bakery specialized in pastry and sweets, while Amelie is the name of the author’s beloved cat. With the aim of combining this two elements, we centered the blog’s visual identity around Le Chat Noir, one of the most famous nightclubs in Paris at the end of the XIX century.
To reinforce the retro feeling, we then added a touch of Art Deco style to the logo: it can be seen in the typefaces, the thick lines and the geometric ornaments that surround the cat silhouette. Even if complex, the logo is still clear enough to be adapted to different media, label, packaging or card.
The design of the website (custom theme, front-end and CMS for a WordPress installation) goes along the same road: the dividers between posts, the menu frames and the buttons for social media follow again the Art Deco style, while the colors are pretty clear with small purple details, as the author requested.
